Want some Advice: Here goes. Show up, give your best and let go of the outcome. We spend so much time worrying about the future that we forget to focus on the present. Why? because The future is built out of the blocks that we build in the here and now
If we don’t focus on building good blocks in the present then we immediately reduce the quality of our future, yet we do it again and again. We loiter in the past in the things we cannot change and we project into the future and create stories, often erring on the negative, about things that have not happened yet. The moment of potency is now.
Sure set your intention ‘in ten years I wanna be influencing change in my sector & earning xy&z to support my family”. And, then let go of it because the ONLY WAY you will create that outcome is to take the practical, small, steps in the hear and now. You can build that future. But a dream will always remain a dream unless You focus on the quality of what you do now.
“Efforts to deepen your focus will struggle if you don’t simultaneously wean your mind from a dependence on distraction.”
I believe that our human habit of ‘dependence on distraction’ lies not only in the whoosh of the incoming email or the ting of the next text. Take those triggers away, and still, we have the ability to create an equal distraction within our minds. These distractions take the form of loitering that past or the future. We must be rigorous. It is time to practise being focused here in the present. The ‘present’ is, after all, a gift!
